Integrated Operating System Brainlab Digital O.R.

Medico-Innovation Technologies

The operating environment is a complex working environment. As technology advances, so does the number of devices in the operating environment that are needed for specific tasks.

Most operating theatres lack the capacity to track all available patient information in a combined manner, which translates into inefficiency, overcrowding and poor safety.

Medical Innovative Technologies  offers a complete turnkey integrated operating systems solution.

Our company has extensive experience in implementing projects of multidisciplinary hospitals with surgical units, including innovative hybrid and robot-assisted operating rooms. Centralization of the necessary information about the patient for the operation — whether it is radiological studies, video sources, equipment or software, makes it possible to effectively manage processes.

The integrated operating system is a centralized network information node that allows you to output, display, process, stream, record and supplement medical images, software content and video. Its main purpose is to simplify the routine operations of the surgeon, allowing him to focus on the treatment of the patient at the moment and in the future.

A feature of operating rooms using integrated systems is the maximum improvement in ergonomics in an optimized space, for comfortable and safe work of the surgeon. By consolidating the various workflows in the operating room in one place, we minimize the number of interfaces in the sterile area.

The telecommunications unit allows providing remote consultations and assistance to colleagues directly during the operation, both within the same clinic and between institutions indefinitely remote from each other, as well as the head's control over work in any operating room, teleconferences, distance learning for students and specialists. Various forms of telecommunications integrate the clinic into the system of medical care at the local and global levels.

Benefits of Integrated Operating Systems

  • Improving patient safety, reducing the risk of adverse situations and complications during operations by improving the management of processes and procedures;
  • The ability of the surgeon to have access during the operation to all the data of the preoperative examination (X-ray, ultrasound, histological fragments or analysis of blood parameters, microscopic images, etc.) increases the reliability in choosing the right treatment tactics;
  • Ability to connect various equipment and video sources during surgery, such as endoscopes, microscopes, scanners, indoor cameras, robotic devices and navigation platforms;
  • The use of a video system that is unique in image quality and resolution gives the doctor maximum opportunities for accurate diagnosis, perfect orientation and high-precision execution of manipulations during complex manipulations;
  • Improving the ergonomics of the workplace ensures the preservation of high efficiency of the surgeon, reducing risk factors affecting the health of qualified clinic staff;
  • The possibility of conducting remote consultations and consultations directly during the operation allows you to take advantage of the experience of highly qualified specialists around the world;
  • Improving the efficiency of the use of qualified personnel due to improved control and management of system parameters;
  • The possibility of performing different types of interventions in the same operating room (general surgical, neuro- and cardiac surgery);
  • Increased operating room capacity through optimised scheduling, optimised processes, reduced intervention time, time to reposition equipment for the next team and operational case;
  • Guarantee of future use of the equipment, based on the possibility of retrofitting so that the system can be upgraded to meet future requirements;
  • A single patient record system reduces unnecessary diagnostic procedures in the preoperative period and the length of the patient's stay in the clinic, and links the primary outpatient site with the clinic to shape patient flow, ensuring continuity of care at all stages of treatment, including post-hospital care.

Brainlab Digital O.R Integration Solutions

Medical-Innovative Technologies LLP uses Brainlab Digital O.R. integration solutions aimed at centralising the information needed for the operation - whether it is radiology, video sources, hardware or software - on a single platform: Buzz.

Simple and flexible integration of devices and healthcare information systems allows Buzz to collect the right data at the right time. New connected sources automatically appear on the Start screen, allowing integrated devices to be centrally managed and monitored without the need for additional screens and interfaces.

Easy integration with systems HIS/PACS/VNA

Brainlab Digital O.R. simplifies the process of creating new data and enriching it through a single central data processing site, optimizes IT connections in a medical institution and facilitates daily IT maintenance.

  • Data without borders. Brainlab Origin Server software, installed on a physical server or on a virtual machine, is the central data processing node between the hospital archives (HIS, PACS, VNA) and the Buzz system.

  • Instant access to patient data. Data transmitted through Brainlab devices is automatically synchronized, making it immediately available to the operations team.

  • The right data at the right time. Thanks to integration with HIS, Origin Server software retrieves the day's schedule for the OR in advance from HL7 messages and DICOM worklists. As a result, only the data needed for a particular day and operating theatre is entered into the optimised patient list, without wasting time downloading and searching for data.

  • Efficient use of resources. The Origin Server software uses the resources of the medical institution's network to pre-sample patient images at the least busy time intervals.
